Any ad critiques would be appreciated. I started the bidding at $.99 for each and $400 buy it now on the Mini (I know it’s on the higher side, but why not?)

The Apple IIc was the first computer I used back in 1988(ish). Good computer, and best of luck!

According to this, your price doesn’t seem high, particularly with the bigger HD.

It’s still a 5 year old computer that’d be selling for $20 less than I paid for it. I guess when you count in the keyboard and trackpad and HD upgrade it’s good.

Mini mac seems like it’d make a great htpc

If I recall correctly, the latest MacMini doesn't allow HD or RAM upgrades, so I think the price is too unreasonable since it's sort of more desirable.

I don’t know. If you owned a lot of movies or photos then maybe. That was my original retirement plan for it when I bought it, just keep it forever and use it for multimedia. But that was 2011. Streaming services have really taken off since then.

These things haven’t depreciated at all really, maybe $100 or $200 off original MSRP, but for a computer that’s nothing. Figure I’d sell it while I still can.

It is too unreasonable, or isn’t?

That makes sense. At the time I bought this one the previous gen with disc drives were fetching a premium.

Doh. I meant to say I don’t think the price is too unreasonable. I mean, it's basically the same specs as the current version for $100 less and is user upgradable. My only worry would be Apple inevitably dropping support.

I have an xp machine currently as an htpc what wouldn’t the mini be able to do? Surely it can Netflix?

As it turns out you can only have buy it now and auction for certain items, not computers. So I guess it’s just an auction.

Oh for sure, it does that quite well. It’s kinda overkill though. Streaming boxes and sticks are great at what they do and dead simple to use. Unless you have saved files you want to play the box makes more sense.

Thanks! Even if you don’t win, you still help by driving the bid up early.

Mac Mini will be my next media server, if I don’t give in and just build something custom. Can’t decide though if I buy a new one or one that I can upgrade to the specs I want it to be at.
